Trump says Iran war "close to over" amid hopes for more negotiations
Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Mining, Power and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index rose 0.50%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were PIK SHb PJSC (MCX:PIKK), which rose 2.68% or 17.20 points to trade at 659.70 at the close. Meanwhile, AK ALROSA PJSC (MCX:ALRS) added 2.51% or 1.18 points to end at 48.27 and Polyus PJSC (MCX:PLZL) was up 2.17% or 46.60 points to 2,194.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were TATNEFT n.a. V.D. Shashin Pref (MCX:TATN_p), which fell 1.04% or 6.70 points to trade at 636.50 at the close. TATNEFT n.a. V.D. Shashin (MCX:TATN) declined 0.91% or 6.20 points to end at 675.00 and OK Rusal MKPAO (MCX:RUAL) was down 0.59% or 0.20 points to 33.49.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 179 to 61 and 11 ended unchanged.
The Russian Volatility Index – RVI, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was down 0.84% to 32.88.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.02% or 34.65 to $3,416.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.36% or 0.23 to hit $63.75 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.18% or 0.12 to trade at $67.79 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.43% to 80.91, while EUR/RUB rose 1.03% to 94.46.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.92% at 97.60.
